The Sager NP6110 (based on the Clevo W110ER) was the first gaming laptop I owned, and it was a tiny but powerful beast. Purchased from XoticPC some time in 2012, the Sager NP6110 was an 11.6″ laptop running an Intel 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge i7-3610QM quad core processor, NVidia GeForce GT 650M 2GB graphics card, 8GB memory running at 1600MHz, and an Intel 520 Series 2.5″ SATA SSD drive. It was unheard of to have such relatively powerful components in such a tiny chassis, and it certainly it attracted a few comments wherever I went.
The laptop featured a reasonably nice HD 1366×768 glossy screen, 1.3MP camera, and weighed in at 3.9lb, which combined with the small form factor made it ideal for mobility, while still having great performance. The glossy screen was a little too reflective for me, especially outdoors or in well-lighted rooms, so I replaced the screen with a slightly better spec WXGA (wide extended graphics array) high def matte LCD LED panel I picked up through Amazon. That definitely helped, particularly with gaming.
The right hand side of the Sager NP6110 had a Kensington lock, a powered USB 2.0 port, and the power input. The left side had an ethernet RJ45 port, VGA port, HDMI port, headphone jack, separate mic jack, and two USB 3.0 ports. On the front edge there was also a 9-in-one card reader. For a 11.6″ laptop, that was a lot of options. The battery was readily removable with about 3.5 hours per charge, depending on what you were doing. The only ‘negative’ was that the keyboard wasn’t backlit, but with such a tiny form factor, the performance far outweighed that loss.
Overall one awesome little gaming machine, and it handled BF3 (Battlefield 3) like a champ. Here’s a few pictures of the Sager NP6110 sourced from Google Images.
